Look at it side on and the bottom of the shoe is a row of open capsules rather than a slab of foam. Each one is a hollow chamber that collapses when you land and springs back open as you push off, so the cushioning comes from the shape of the sole rather than from its thickness.
The listing describes a trail running shoe with a technical mesh upper reinforced against the elements, and CloudTec® cushioning: rubber capsules positioned through the sole to absorb impact and keep the transition between surfaces smooth.

A sole made of separate capsules is not one piece of foam. Each capsule has to be shaped, placed and bonded on its own, and the rubber pad on the bottom of each is a further step. A flat midsole is one mold and one operation.
